My Story... 
Let me tell you a quick story about my childhood. I was constantly searching for my worth. My dad left my family of 8 children when I was 3, and then my mom remarried when I was 7, which made us a family of 14 children.

Struggling with my own demons from a broken home with many moving parts, I found comfort in food. This comfort soon turned to an addiction, which later turned into multiple disorders.

I was manically searching for outside sources to fill inside voids, be it boys, alcohol, eating disorders, suicide attempts, and more. 

I was lost, scared, bitter, and confused. My relationship with food improved some as I attended nursing school, but it was still an issue as I continued my search for self-worth...

I STRUGGLED during my first two pregnancies. I let myself go and allowed pregnancy to be an excuse for my overeating and laziness. 

After my second baby was born, I found myself heavier than I had ever been--220 pounds--and suffering from serious postpartum depression. One late night as I breastfed Baylor, exhausted beyond comprehension, I hit my breaking point. 

I decided to start working out. I lost 80 pounds after having Baylor, and I thought that would bring me the happiness and self-love I had been searching for. However, I was just as unhappy at 120 pounds as I was at 220 pounds. I was a slave to the scale and became so obsessed that I developed severe body dysmorphia. Turns out, my weight wasn't the problem...

The problem I had was I didn't know how to TRULY LOVE MYSELF and feel at home in my body. 

And that's when I had my big "ah-ha" moment.

So first I tried finding self-love through more outside sources like working out, prescription drugs, and losing more weight. None of that worked, and I was more miserable than ever.
